Holi- Indian Festival of Colors

03/04/09 | by Ajit | Categories: Diseases

Holi is enjoyed by most of the states in northern, western and central India.

It is festival when all the people enjoy meeting all the friends. The festival starts with throwing dry and wet colors on each other and offering specially made sweets-Gunjias.
Holi festival is being celebrated since ancient times. It has a mythological reason for applying colors on each other.

After winters, the changed weather give rise to lots of germs and mosquitoes. It causes general health ailments of cold and fever. Holi was celebrated with throwing of powdered medicinal plants like Tulsi, Turmeric and neem with a dash of color so that people stay healthier. These herbs protect us from micro-organisms without causing any rashes or irritation to our skin.

The other important reason for celebrating Holi has been to dissolve our minor differences and review friendship with our friends. This festival gives us an opportunity to apply colors on our friends face and share sweets with them.

Lately people have been using synthetic colors which cause many health hazards. Oxidized metals and industrial dyes are mixed with oils and applied on the body of other people with a wish to leave a lasting effect but that results into harms to the skin in the form of burning sensation.

All the Indian friends are requested to use only Herbal colors. It is available in red and green colors. They can easily visit the following site to get it.
